The IFIP is proud to welcome Nova Pioneer Tatu Day to our Global Inclusive Teaching Initiative. Nova Pioneer  Education Group is a phenomenal network of schools developing generations of innovators and leaders who will shape the African Century. Nova Pioneer is a launchpad where young Africans can begin to shape a better future for the continent.

Principal, Christine Kathurima of Nova Pioneer Tatu Day in Nairobi says, “I am proud today to say we begin our journey to become an inclusive school!” Deputy Principal Harun Nyongesa organised a training session of 40+ teachers in which we launched the Global Inclusive Teaching Initiative. Harun said, “We are excited for what is coming up in this partnership!”

The launch of GITI has been planned to start in this academic year by the school. The course places emphasis on practical application and is designed to be studied in ‘bite- size’ pieces of learning with activities and tasks for teachers to trial in their teaching and planning. GITI is written by experts in the field of Inclusion and differentiation including, Daniel Sobel, Prof Carol Tomlinson, Helena Wallberg, Abigail Gray and Louise Dawson.

Teachers are encouraged to reflect on and review their knowledge and practice at regular intervals. Above all the Initiative is designed to be stimulating and enjoyable, as well as being relevant across a range of settings.
